| On February
15, 2003 the world spoke up with a call to peace. With a call to history
that we are ready for something else. Millions of people gathered across
the globe to convey one unified message, "We do not want war". This perspective
actively illuminates the hypocrisy of the concept of Government. The notion
that several hundred people have the luxury of dictating to the greater
majority. This illuminates for us the error we have made in trusting the
nature of our government to individuals. Democracy is a daily endeavor.
It requires persistence and flexibility. It requires an open community
comfortable with communicating with itself. This protest march is a good
example of a large number of people coming together and expressing their
perspectives peacefully. |
